Peter Pumpkinhead is a chillingly charming three-dimensional “shelf sitter” doll that is stitched on 18ct White Mono canvas in a deliciously fun array of fun and funky fibers and stitches.  The head is a separate 3-D piece that can be detached from the top of the body and sat in his lap for an even more ghoulish effect.  The cape is a separate canvas that is stitched on Kreinik’s Garment Canvas.  It is 18ct. interlock nylon canvas that gives a more fabric-like drape and feel to the final product.  Threads include Petite Very Velvet, Kreinik Metallics, Splendor Silks, Overdyed Floss, Ribbon Floss, Soft Sheen Fyre Werks, Frosty Rays and Burmilana.  The legs consist of buttons, spools and beads that connect the stitched boots to the body after all the pieces are finished.  The finished piece is approximately 13”tall x 7” wide excluding the legs and feet which hang off of the shelf.

The kit consists of;
          4 pieces of canvas - Head, body, boots, and garment canvas for the cape
          All threads, beads, lace, attachments and other ornamentation

Teaching Plan
Day 1:  Stitching and construction of the head
Day 2:  Stitching and construction of the cape and painting of the spools & beads for the legs
Day 3:  Stitching and construction of the body and finish painting of the legs
Day 4:  Stitching and construction of the boots as well as discussion of attachment of the legs to the body

The student will be asked to bring:
           The usual stitching supplies, including light and magnification
          4 Sets of stretcher bars
